I have over 13 years of experience as a medical doctor. But it was only after my own diagnosis of cancer a few years ago, that I discovered the specialty of Lifestyle Medicine and its proven benefits.
I graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 2006 and completed my training as a General Practitioner in 2011. I then qualified as a Family Physician in Toronto and ran my own practice there for over seven years. I have always had a strong interest in nutrition, but it was only when I became the patient instead of the doctor that I was forced to reconsider everything I thought I knew about diet and lifestyle. I overhauled my own health habits and after feeling the transformation, I was compelled to share this with my family, friends and patients. Following this I specialised and certified as a Lifestyle Medicine Physician. I grew up in Glasgow and after spending almost twenty years away from home as part of my medical training, I am so happy to be back in Scotland with my family. I am excited to share all that I know about Lifestyle Medicine so that as many people as possible can live healthier, happier lives.
My goal and my passion is to improve the lives of my patients, and their families, through lifestyle choices.
By focussing on the six pillars of Lifestyle Medicine, I have seen first-hand the benefits it brings for my patients. Many have had incredible success improving their health and report feeling much better in themselves.
